I’m sure everyone here knows about the BlogEngage community. In fact, I remember Enstine wrote a post on Blog Engage about 3-4 months ago. But the real question is can you make money from it by being a part of this awesome Blog Community. The answer is a BIG YES. Here’s how I made $300 from Blog Engage in a month.
Blog Engage Contest
If you didn’t know, Brian regularly hosts contest on BlogEngage. The prize money usually is a few hundred dollars. If you can win one of these contests you can really make some money. Abhi Balani, the Oddblogger (winner of 3 contests) made $750 and Justin Germino, the Dragonblogger won a massive $1000 last year from the contests alone.
I always wanted to earn money like that. That’s why, when Brian announced this year’s first contest, I knew I had to participate no matter what.
How the BlogEngage contest worked ?
The contest was the called $150 Blog Engage Affiliate Lights Contest. Basically, Brian had made an announcement that he needed 10 bloggers to write an awesome review about the Blog Engage community and it’s awesome features. The good thing about this contest was that Brian was going to make sure that everyone would get at least $50. And what sales we would make from our Affiliate Lights tracking code, we were going to earn the full commission instead of the regular 25% commission. Also, the one who makes the most sales would get a $100 bonus.
For the last 4 weeks, all 10 bloggers and especially Brian, marketed our posts heavily to get as much as sale as everyone could. This contest was therefore also an opportunity to increase my blog’s exposure to another level (the main reason why I participated) and it sure did.
After a couple of weeks, the most unexpected thing happened which I couldn’t believe.
We were going to receive full commission for any sales. The most unexpected thing that happened was that I was able to sell a 99.99 GBP account from my article. Also, you’re going to love who love bought the account. It was none other than the famous Zac Johnson.
I somehow knew that he bought it because in between the contest I started seeing all his posts on the front page. When I asked Brian and he confirmed it, I was happy beyond belief. I knew right then, that I was in for a chance to win the whole damn thing. I did make one more sale and eventually I won the whole contest and earned $250 from it. The announcement for the contest winners were made by Brian just a couple of days ago and I got my payment yesterday.
In case you’re wondering, I wrote a post titled how Blog Engage can be the ultimate blogging community for any blogger. It’s worth checking out.
Blog Engage Job Board
The Blog Engage Job Board is a relatively new feature where a job is posted by Brian or by some other member of Blog Engage. The price for the article is mentioned in the job details. Some of the details like the number of words and the subject to write on are mentioned explicitly.
What you have to do is apply for the job and if the job employer approves, you write that article and if he likes it you get your payment via paypal. I wrote 3-4 articles using the job board and I was able to make $50 very easily (I did write awesome content , don’t forget that ).
So, in total I was able to make $300 from Blog Engage alone.
